Ridiculously ambitious? Yes! But I’m prepared (at least I hope I am).
So today I went for it, I bought a ticket to South Africa. Thee months from now I will be walking among lions, elephants, giraffes, and zebras…I cannot wait. I missed out on the $600 and $700 deals that Delta was offering because I hesitated, but I guess $896 round trip from Washington, D.C. on South African Airways isn’t too bad. My journey takes me from Washington, D.C. to Dakar, Senegal, and then onto Johannesburg, South Africa……….Dakar?!?!?! Yep, that’s right, I’ll be right next to the Ebola Zone! Am I scared? Not in the least. It’s just a fuel stop, so I won’t be getting off the plane and I really don’t plan on coming into contact with someone who has ebola. The flight from Washington, D.C. is 17 hours total, 8 hours from Washington, D.C to Dakar, 1 hour fuel stop, and then 8 hours from Dakar to Johannesburg. Now I just need to find a cheap flight to Washington from LA and I’m set! South Africa, here I come!
